Healthy Island Living Resources

Island living is so amazing on so many levels ~ whether you live on land or on the water, it’s a blessing to wake up with warmth and beauty all around us each day.  At first brush, healthy island living seems like it should be so easy! Plenty of tropical fruit, beaches to walk, oceans to swim in, right?  Unfortunately, there are more challenges than meets they eye to keeping yourself healthy in the Caribbean.  Food is often imported and quality may not be what you’re used to in the US or Europe.  It can be expensive and frustrating trying to shop or eat out while trying to maintain a healthy diet.  Alcohol is often the beverage of choice and sometimes it’s just too darned hot.

But it IS possible to live a healthy lifestyle in the islands!!

Here I’ve put together an ever growing list of resources of healthy places to visit and frequent here in the Caribbean, whether you are born here, planted roots here or just passing through.

I’ve included natural food stores, restaurants (even if it’s just because they have some healthy menu items), wellness practitioners, chiropractors, farmers’ markets, road side stands, eco-resorts and more!

Where possible, I’ve included links to webpages or sometimes Facebook pages of these businesses.  Take a browse through by clicking on the island you’re interested it. For now I’ve focused on the Eastern Caribbean, but I hope to branch out soon.

And PLEASE! If you know of anything missing from the list, PLEASE send me an email and let me know – I’ll be sure to include it and will send you a free copy of my e-book Food Changes Everything as a thank you.
